Confidently Navigate the Updated IBDP Visual Arts Curriculum
This course offers a comprehensive guide to the updated IBDP Visual Arts curriculum, with its first assessment in 2027. It centers on the philosophical shifts in the program, emphasizing art-making as inquiry and integrating the core areas of Create, Connect, and Communicate. Participants will explore the redesigned assessment tasks—including the Art-making Inquiries Portfolio (SL and HL), the Connections Study (SL), the Artist Project (HL), and the Resolved/Unresolved Works (Internal Assessment for both SL and HL).
The course unpacks the new assessment objectives and criteria, offering strategies and examples for guiding students through each task. You’ll gain confidence in curating portfolios, supporting independent research, and preparing students for success in the evolving world of IB Visual Arts.
